Harnai Port is a well-known port in Dapoli Taluka. This port has many land forts like Kanadurga fort, the fort of Gova, Fatehgadh and a water fort called Suvarnadurga. History states that these forts were home to the armada of the great king Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his confidant Sarkhel Kanhoji. ...The fishermen tribe (Kolis) being the main residents here, fishing is the principle occupation at the ports. The sea shore is always buzzing with hundreds of trawlers, small ships, row boats, ice trucks, cans filled with diesel, trucks to transport fish, weigh scales, wicker baskets, bullock carts and thousands of men. The shore is so crowded that there is hardly any space left. Though the shore is crowded from 3pm to 6pm, it is absolutely empty in the morning. All the fishing trawlers from Harnai, Dabhol, Veldur, Ratnagiri and even Bankot arrive at the port in the noon and dock there one by one.

Anjarle Hill Temple

Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, formerly Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, is an agricultural university at Dapoli in Ratnagiri district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was established on 18 May 1972 as Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, and got its present name on 12 February 2001 in memory of third Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. P. K. Sawant. ...Its research centre at Karjat has developed some patented varieties of rice. Its major focus areas are rice, horticulture and fisheries. In 1997, it received the Best Institute Award of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Dr. SD Sawant is the 14th Vice Chancellor of this University, he was appointed by Chancellor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao on 7 March 2019.

Chandika Cave Temple

Based on a plateau about 1 Km away from the Dapoli – Dabhol highway and about 3-4 Kms away from Dabhol harbor, is a svayambhu (appeared on its own) temple of Goddess Chandika. The three-foot-tall stone idol of Goddess Chandika, covered in holy vermillion, was found in a naturally occurring cave of jet black stone. ...The goddess’s sculpture has 4 hands which wield weapons like a sword, shield, etc. The entrance of the cave being short, visitors must bend and proceed on their way inside the cave. This very cave entrance is fitted with decorated silver sheet. After entering the cave, you will find stairs (which were previously just a slope) leading underground. It is usually dark inside the cave with space enough for only two people to go in at a time. Once you reach the temple underground with the support of the walls, you will a well-lit lamp on the altar and in the lamp’s light you will see the beautiful and divine idol of goddess Chandika.

Pankahekaji Caves

Panhalakaji Caves are situated in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra state, about 160 km south of Mumbai. This cave complex has around 30 Buddhist caves. The Hinayana sect began carving caves in 3rd century AD, beginning with the stupa in the current Cave 5. ...The caves have inscriptions in Dhamma and Devanagari script. In the 10-11th century AD another Buddhist group, a Vajrayana sect, established cave 10 with their deities Akshobhya and Mahachandaroshana; and strengthened their practice in that region. Shiva and Ganpatya worshiping started at the site during Silahara rule. There are total 29 caves out of which 28 are situated on the right bank of mou tain stream Kotjai.

Unhaware Nature Hot Springs

Hot water springs can be all around the Konkan region, in the districts of Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, etc. Many tourists crowd these places often for spiritual or leisure purposes. At Dapoli., this hot water spring is at a village named Unhavare. This village is based at 35 Kms away from the city of Dapoli. ...Because this pool is perennial, there is hot water here all round the year. The water level remains constant during winters and monsoon as well. Even the temperature of the water never changes. The speed of the springs is 8 to 10 thousand liters and the temperature of its waters is 70 degrees Celsius. These waters contain a mixture of Sulphur and Carbon dioxide. As the amount of Sulphur is higher, these waters can cure skin diseases and are a perfect solution for stress. However, it is advised against going into the spring waters on an empty stomach or one might faint. At the village of Unhavare, the people have built a bath pond with waist deep water level. There is even an enclosed and private bath pond for women. Having a bath in these waters is a relaxing experience. The locals use these bath pond facilities too on a regular basis.

Keshavraj Temple

Keshavraj Temple is an excellent place that showcases the nature’s beauty. Asudbaug is situated approximately 6 kilometres from the Dapoli-Harne road near Dapoli. There is a trail that leads down from Dabkewadi.... Taluka - Dapoli

There are dense coconut and pam grooves on both sides of this trail which have existed in this wadi for hundreds of years. As the temple architecture is from the Peshwa period, the beautiful idol of Lord Vishnu standing in the dim light of the lanterns immediately grabs your attention. The temple is facing southwards and the pleasant atmosphere inside the temple makes you feel at peace. As the idol of lord Ganpati stands to the left of the temple, the temple is surrounded by stone pavements from all four sides and also famously known as the Keshavraj Devrai temple.
